Bynum, Bryant power Lakers past Nuggets

Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum powered the Los Angeles Lakers past Denver 92-89 on Saturday, a victory sealed when Denver’s Danilo Gallinari botched a game-tying layup in the closing seconds. Bynum scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Bryant added 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for the Lakers , who improved to 3-2 while the Nuggets fell to 2-2

Lakers big man Bynum makes a monster debut

Updated Dec 31, 2011 11:26 PM ET   LOS ANGELES (AP) Andrew Bynum provided the Los Angeles Lakers with a powerful performance in his season debut, following a four-game suspension that carried over from the playoffs. It all would have been for naught, however, had it not been for some clutch shooting in the fourth quarter by Kobe Bryant and a couple of equally critical hustle plays by Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol in the final minutes.
